Self care is an activity that we do deliberately to take care of our mental, emotional and physical health. Although it’s a simple concept in theory, it’s something we very often overlook.
Wow this is a concept that over the years means more to me. The idea that I am worthy of and that relaxing is great. One way in which I practice self care is not setting the alarm so I can do more to get that feeling of natural rest. Other ways are the hot Epsom salt bath (a lot of us have this in common), accepting a compliment, and being around people I love. I also practice speaking to myself kindly, speaking to others kindly, exploring a city just because and allowing life to show up and not forcing it. Holding crystals, candles, burning sage. Meditating and praying in the morning, in my day, and evening. Not judging when I miss my routine and knowing progress not perfection. Honoring my inner soul (my capsule). Being kind. Self care turns into self awareness. It can be contagious.
We are teaching each other. This week we started a giveaway and asked what you do for self care. It has been a joy to read and feel what we have in common. Go Team “self care.”
